How to get to Corsica by ferry

To reach Corsica by ferry you can start sailing from both Italian ports, including Sardinian ones, and French ones.

Sea connections for Corsica

Many ferries dock daily in Corsica with departures both from Italy (clearly also from nearby Sardinia) and from France. The main ports on the eastern side of Corsica are the port of Bastia and Porto Vecchio, to the south there is the port of Bonifacio, on the western side, mostly reached by French lines for the convenience of the route, the port of Ajaccio, the port of L ‘Île-Rousse (Red Island) and the port of Propriano.

From mainland Italy, all year round the Corsica Ferries – Sardinia Ferries fleet connects the port of Livorno with Bastia and L’Île-Rousse, and also the port of Genoa with Bastia. From June to October, the Moby company is also active for the routes to Bastia from Livorno and Genoa. Moby also operates (in high season) the connection between Genoa and Ajaccio. From Sardinia, the companies that cross the Strait of Bonifacio longitudinally from the port of Santa Teresa di Gallura are Corsica – Sardinia Ferries, Moby with two weekdays and one holiday, and the new Ichnusa Lines, which is dedicated exclusively to this route with three daily departures. Only in summer the NLG ferries go to Bonifacio both from Santa Teresa di Gallura and from Palau. Moby and Corsica Ferries also connect Porto Torres and Ajaccio: the first one in high season two or three times a week, the second one in high season every day, for the rest of the year once a week. In the high season, the Golfo Aranci – Bastia and Porto Torres – Porto Vecchio routes are operated, not daily. All the information are available at the following links:
