International ferry routes to Patras (Greece)

The ferries that travel on international routes to get to Patras leave exclusively from Italy.

All international maritime connections to Patras

To reach the port city of Patras in the homonymous gulf of the northern Peloponnese with a passenger ship, as well as some national routes, there are international routes. Directed to the third largest city in Greece, they all depart from Italy, precisely from the ports of Ancona, Venice or Bari. These routes to the Hellenic peninsula are obviously also traveled back.

At the links in the following paragraphs, you will find detailed other useful information on the shipping lines that connect Italy, and Europe, to Patras, such as departure dates and times and ticket prices, which make up a complete overview of the trip.

Ancona-Patras ferries

The Ancona ➜ Patras ferries are owned by the shipping companies Minoan Lines, and Superfast Ferries and Anek Lines which operate in joint service.

Grimaldi Minoan Lines deploys the Europa Palace carrier on the route, which runs direct and it is equipped with an à la carte restaurant, self-service, fast food, bars and lounges, outdoor swimming pool, boutique and minimarket, children’s play area, kennel and disco .

The available accommodations are the deck passage, the armchairs, the cabins, internal or external, single or with two, three, four seats, and the Superior single or double bed cabins. Departures are three-weekly, in the afternoon, and the crossing lasts twenty-two hours and thirty minutes.

Superfast Ferries sails the route with the Superfast XI, which can make an intermediate stop in Igoumenitsa. On board there are the restaurant, the self-service, the swimming pool, the casino, the shops and the kennel. On board Anek Lines’ Hellenic Spirit and Olympic Champion, with which for some trips a stopover in Igoumenitsa is still provided, there are services such as restaurants, bars, swimming pools, shops, slot machine rooms and camping on board.

The types of accommodation provided are the deck passage, the armchair, the cabin with one or two beds, even deluxe, or the one with three or four beds. Multiple weekly departures are scheduled and the travel time varies between twenty-one hours and thirty minutes and twenty-four hours.

Venice-Patras ferries

The ferries on the Venice ➜ Patras route are those of the Superfast Ferries Anek Lines joint service. Also in this case they call at Igoumenitsa and take between thirty-two and thirty-three hours of navigation. In low and mid season there are three trips a week (during the mid season a weekly trip also stops in Corfu), while in high season there are two trips.

The first company uses the Asterion II unit on the route, which features a self-service refreshment point, bar, shops and slot machines. The Olympic Champion is used by the Anek fleet, where, among other services (restaurants, bars, swimming pool and slot machine room), it is possible to use the camping on board.

Deck, armchair, berth, one or two-seater cabins, including deluxe cabins, and three or four-seater cabins are available on board.

Bari-Patras ferries

The Bari ➜ Patras ferries first make an intermediate stop in Igoumenitsa. It takes a total of sixteen hours and thirty minutes to get to the final goal.

The ships are the Superfast I and the Superfast II (operating for the joint service of the Superfast Ferries and Anek Lines companies), on which it is possible to book the deck passage, the armchair and the single, double, triple or quadruple cabins. Carriers are equipped with self-service restaurant, café, shop, casino and kennel.

In the low season there are three trips per week, in the middle season the run is made every day except Saturday, and for one of these the stopover must also be considered in Corfu, while in the high season the route is covered daily and, even in this case, with a weekly run which stops in Corfu before those in Igoumenitsa and Patras.
