How to reach Ustica

The Palermo - Ustica ferries run 365 days a year. To reach the island there are also hydrofoils, but only for a certain period.

Arrive on the island of Ustica

There is only one way to get to Ustica, the island of the Tyrrhenian Sea of about 8.65 square kilometers located north-west of the Palermo coast: by sea. The Usticese Municipality is part of the Metropolitan city of Palermo and the distance between the port of Palermo (the only one with which it is connected) and the port of Ustica is about 35 nautical miles.

Timetables, prices and all other information necessary to book a ticket for the line can be found here: Palermo ➜ Ustica.

Ferries

The Siremar ferry runs departing from the Palermo maritime station are daily throughout the year. The duration of the journey to the island is three hours and the accommodation on board is that of the Bridge Passage, and of course you can sit on the armchairs and on free seats. You can embark with or without a vehicle.

Hydrofoils

From June to December it is possible to reach the island faster, again from the Palermo port station but by hydrofoil, thanks to the Liberty Lines carriers, which take an hour and thirty minutes to complete the route. Every day, during the period in which the line is active, three fast boats depart.
