Founded in Naples in 1975, Caremar deals with the maritime transport of people and goods in the Gulf of Naples. In 2015 the Campania Region sold the company to SNAV S.p.A. and RIFIM S.p.A. Despite the privatization, Caremar continues to carry out specific public service obligations (O.S.P.) ensuring the achievement of the 7 major ports of the Gulf of Naples (Naples, Capri, Casamicciola Terme, Ischia Porto, Pozzuoli, Procida, Sorrento).
The Caremar Fleet currently consists of 4 Ferries, 2 Fast Ferries, 1 Hydrofoil, 1 Catamaran and 1 Fast Unit
On all ferries free for children up to 4 years old; and on all hydrofoils up to 2 years of age not completed. On all ferries reduction for children aged 4 to 12 years old; and on all hydrofoils from 2 to 12 years old. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by adult passengers.
Caremar allows the transport of dogs, cats and other small animals upon purchase of the corresponding travel ticket. Dogs must be equipped with a leash and muzzle; other small animals must be placed in special carriers. Passengers and accompanying animals must stop in the areas specially reserved for them with the exception of guide dogs for the blind. Transport (regulated by health and veterinary provisions in force) and care of pets are the responsibility of the user.
Each passenger has the right to take a hand luggage of 20 kg with them for FREE when traveling by ferry; 10 kg and maximum dimensions 50 x 40 x 20 cm in hydrofoil. Additional baggage and baggage larger than the size indicated above must be specified at the time of booking and purchased at the relative rate. Checking the size and weight of the baggage is the user's responsibility.
On the Caremar ferries and hydrofoils it is possible to embark the bicycle at the scheduled rate.
CANCELLATION Penalties
Time before departure and penalty:
- more than 24 hours: 25%;
- less than 24 hours: no refund.
Presale and booking fees are non-refundable.
CHANGE costs (date and/or time only)
Time before departure and cost:
- more than 24 hours: 10% of the ticket price with a minimum of €5;
To these modification costs must be added any fare differences and the modification fee equal to € 2 per trip leg.
