From Italy, although there is no direct flight to the Balearic Islands, you can make a stopover in Barcelona and then embark from the Catalan coastal city for Ibiza.

You can leave from the port of Civitavecchia or from that of Genoa and, for the sake of completeness of information, also from Sardinia (Porto Torres). If you are in northern Italy it is of course convenient to start from Genoa, while if you are in the center-south from Civitavecchia.

The first stop, for those who intend to reach the Ibizan territory by sea from Italy, is therefore Barcelona. In the first two paragraphs below you will find all the information on the routes, and by clicking on the links you can examine the details on dates and times of departures and on ticket prices. The last paragraph presents all the information relating to the all-Spanish route to the most nonconformist island of the Balearics.

Civitavecchia-Barcelona ferries

The Grimaldi Lines shipping company runs daily (except Sundays) the Civitavecchia ➜ Barcellona route, taking twenty or twenty-one hours with departure in the evening. The naval units used are Cruise Roma and Cruise Barcelona.

Deck passage, reclining armchairs, internal or external cabins with four bunk beds, Junior suites with double beds and bunk beds, Owner’s suites (more spacious), cabins for the disabled can be booked.
