{"id":6728,"date":"2022-08-27T10:00:53","date_gmt":"2022-08-27T08:00:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.traghettiup.com\/blog\/?p=6728"},"modified":"2022-08-27T10:00:57","modified_gmt":"2022-08-27T08:00:57","slug":"lampedusa-all-the-beaches-of-the-island","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.traghettiup.com\/blog\/en\/lampedusa-all-the-beaches-of-the-island\/","title":{"rendered":"Lampedusa: all the beaches of the island"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Where to go to the beach in Lampedusa<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the beaches of Lampedusa, the most famous is certainly the so-called <em>dei Conigli<\/em> (rabbit), located in front of the homonymous islet, which can easily be considered <strong>one of the most beautiful in the world<\/strong> (in the cover image you can visually appreciate the quality of the sand) .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But there are also other beaches that enchant the patrons with the soft sand bathed by the <strong>clear sea<\/strong>, surrounded by natural fairytale landscapes, all located on the eastern and southern coasts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Most of the Lampedusan beaches are not very large, and are located in narrow inlets with fjord-like sea arms<\/strong>, with low and rocky banks close to the coast; <strong>the quality of the waters is excellent<\/strong> (they are rich in underwater flora and fauna), since we are, between Africa and Italy, in the open sea (a true paradise for those who love snorkeling but also for simple swimmers) .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you don&#8217;t need to know<a href=\"https:\/\/www.traghettiup.com\/blog\/en\/how-to-reach-the-pelagie-islands-by-sea\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.traghettiup.com\/blog\/en\/how-to-reach-the-pelagie-islands-by-sea\/\"> how to get to Lampedusa by sea<\/a>, we can already get to know them all, starting from the westernmost one on the south coast and then continuing counterclockwise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br>Cala Pulcino<\/h3>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.traghettiup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Cala_Pulcino.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6520\" width=\"960\" height=\"635\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.traghettiup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Cala_Pulcino.jpeg 730w, https:\/\/www.traghettiup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Cala_Pulcino-300x198.jpeg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><figcaption><strong><em>Cala Pulcino<\/em><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>The Cala Pulcino beach is made up of <strong>gravel and pebbles<\/strong>, but the shoreline and the seabed are sandy. You can access the beach (completely free and without services of any kind) even from the ground, along a path that is not exactly easy to cross. But the beauty of the place and the lack of crowding amply repay the effort. To reach it, once you arrive in Capo Ponente with a vehicle, continue on foot through the vegetation for about half an hour, along a route that can be classified as of medium difficulty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br>Rabbit beach<\/h3>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"960\" height=\"720\" src=\"https:\/\/www.traghettiup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Spiaggia_dei_Conigli.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6516\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.traghettiup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Spiaggia_dei_Conigli.jpg 960w, https:\/\/www.traghettiup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Spiaggia_dei_Conigli-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.traghettiup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Spiaggia_dei_Conigli-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><figcaption><strong><em>Rabbit beach<\/em><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>The Rabbit beach (in italian <em>dei Conigli<\/em>), <strong>award-winning for its candid beauty<\/strong>, can be reached on foot from Capo Ponente, following the signs and walking along a wild path for about 700 meters. The <strong>sand is fine and white<\/strong>, the sea is crystal clear and the seabed is very shallow up to about 100 meters from the shoreline. Even the body of water that separates it from the uninhabited islet of the same name included in the Pelagie archipelago is not very deep; indeed, on some (rare) occasions a real sandy isthmus is created that connects the beach and the small nearby island. The bay is part of the &#8220;Isola di Lampedusa nature reserve&#8221; and the caretta caretta sea turtles lay their eggs there every year. There are no services, access is free, you must book online at <em>www.prenotazionespiaggiaconigli.it<\/em> and places are limited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br>Cala Galera<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The small beach of Cala Galera is made of <strong>gravel and pebbles<\/strong>, not equipped, and can be reached along a path, which is not exactly easy and poorly marked, for about a quarter of an hour. The cove is wild, nestled between rocks with tufts of Mediterranean scrub. The seabed is made up of pebbles and rocks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br>Cala Greca<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The beach of Cala Greca is of <strong>white sand<\/strong>, not excessively long, between cliffs of light rocks that make the transparent blue of the sea even more striking, showing the sandy bottom. To get there you have to reach the sanctuary of Porto Salvo and walk along a wood of acacias.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br>Cala Madonna<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>On the beach of Cala Madonna there is an <strong>equipped bathing establishment<\/strong> that has sunbeds, umbrellas and a kiosk bar restaurant with parking on the staircase that separates it from the road. Not far from the Sanctuary of the Madonna di Porto Salvo, the small coast is protected by a reed bed and it is of<strong> light sand with both coarse and medium-sized grains<\/strong>. The seabed is sloping and sandy. A statuette of the Madonna has been inserted into one of the rock ridges that delimit it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br>Portu &#8216;Ntoni beach<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The small beach of Portu &#8216;Ntoni is located within the bay of Cala Croce; it has <strong>fine white sand<\/strong>. There is an <strong>equipped bathing establishment<\/strong> with a restaurant, but the surrounding landscape is characterized by rocks covered with Mediterranean scrub, and is quite easily accessible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br>Cala Croce<\/h3>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.traghettiup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Cala_Croce.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6519\" width=\"960\" height=\"643\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.traghettiup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Cala_Croce.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.traghettiup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Cala_Croce-300x201.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.traghettiup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Cala_Croce-768x515.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><figcaption><strong><em>Cala Croce<\/em><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>The Cala Croce beach is small in size, but the <strong>sand is very fine and clear and the seabed is sloping<\/strong>. The bathing establishment has <strong>sunbeds and umbrellas<\/strong>, on one side, on the adjacent flat rocks too, thus increasing the space available to relax on the loungers. The cliff on the opposite side is instead of free use. Bar, restaurant and parking are available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br>Cala Guitgia<\/h3>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.traghettiup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Cala_Guitgia.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6521\" width=\"960\" height=\"719\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.traghettiup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Cala_Guitgia.jpg 960w, https:\/\/www.traghettiup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Cala_Guitgia-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.traghettiup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Cala_Guitgia-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><figcaption><strong><em>Cala Guitgia<\/em><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Cala Guitgia beach is the largest on the island, and it is very close to the town. The <strong>sand is white, fine, even on the gently sloping seabed<\/strong>. There are <strong>establishments with bathing facilities<\/strong>, bars, restaurants, public toilets with showers and every other kind of comfort within walking distance. These features make it very attractive for families with children and for all those who want to get to the beach comfortably. Although nearby there is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.traghettiup.com\/en\/porti\/lampedusa\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.traghettiup.com\/en\/porti\/lampedusa\">port with the dock for ferries to Lampedusa<\/a>, the quality of the water is excellent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br>Cala Spugne<\/h3>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.traghettiup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Cala_Spugne.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6522\" width=\"960\" height=\"721\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.traghettiup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Cala_Spugne.jpg 960w, https:\/\/www.traghettiup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Cala_Spugne-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.traghettiup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Cala_Spugne-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><figcaption><strong><em>Cala Spugne<\/em><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>After <em>Swordfish Cape<\/em> (in italian <em>Punta Pesce Spada<\/em>), also called <em>White Horse Cape <\/em>(<em>Punta Cavallo Bianco<\/em>), the southernmost point of Italy, there is Cala Spugne, easily accessible, where there is <strong>an almost white sandy beach, with medium-sized grains, with sunbeds and umbrellas<\/strong> to rent. In ancient times, sea sponges were collected and processed here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br>Cala Maluk<\/h3>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.traghettiup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Cala_Maluk.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6523\" width=\"960\" height=\"716\"\/><figcaption><strong><em>Cala Maluk<\/em><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>In Cala Maluk, near Via Cala Francese, at the base of the cape of the same name, on the cliff there is a <strong>small beach of fine and clear sand, with umbrellas, sunbeds and a kiosk<\/strong>. In the immediate vicinity there is also a free beach made up of small shells carried by the action of the waves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br>Cala Fiato Perso<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Cala Fiato Perso, also called, in dialect, <em>Sciatu Persu<\/em> encloses a <strong>sandy beach with a bar, a fresh fish restaurant and the possibility of renting beach equipment<\/strong>. There are also flat rocks where you can lie down. The surrounding landscape is characterized by the Mediterranean scrub.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br>Cala Francese<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The beach of Cala Francese is <strong>free, with sun beds and umbrellas rental service<\/strong>. The <strong>sand is white-golden, of medium-fine graininess<\/strong>, with a low and rocky seabed. It is located a few kilometers from the center, near the airport. A few meters away you can park and eat at the kiosk in the area. This is the last cove on the west-east of the southern coast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br>Cala Uccello<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In Cala Uccello, on the eastern side of the island, there is a tiny <strong>strip of sand<\/strong>, reachable from the district of the same name, with <strong>sunbeds and umbrellas for hire<\/strong> and a snack bar, bathed by an arm of the sea that creeps into this rocky recess long and narrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br>Cala Pisana<\/h3>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.traghettiup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Cala_Pisana.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6533\" width=\"960\" height=\"718\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.traghettiup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Cala_Pisana.jpg 720w, https:\/\/www.traghettiup.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Cala_Pisana-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><figcaption><strong><em>Cala Pisana<\/em><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>In Cala Pisana there is a <strong>small sandy beach<\/strong> and, not far away, a quay loved by local children for the opportunity to dive. <strong>Umbrellas and sunbeds<\/strong>, also present on the pier, and several snack bars are available for hire.
